The Thunderbird insignia of the 45th Infantry Division. The patch was adopted in 1938, replacing a Native American swastika. Originally the 45th was formed out of the Oklahoma National Guard, drawing recruits from Oklahoma, Colorado, Arizona, and New Mexico.
